Detectives from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office have made arrest in a shooting that occurred in the DuPont neighborhood.

On September 6th, 2020 at approximately 1:25 a.m., deputies responded to North Suburban Hospital for a victim of a gunshot wound. A preliminary investigation revealed that three women were in a vehicle traveling on 76th Place near Oneida Street when they observed several men standing on a corner. Their vehicle was struck by a glass bottle as they passed the group of men. The driver, a 16-year old female, stopped the vehicle to check for damage. She stepped out of the vehicle and was immediately struck by a bullet in her right leg. The women left the area and drove the victim to North Suburban Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The ACSO Laboratory and Crime Scene Team responded to the location to process the scene. Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and developed a suspect, Jereme Wall. On September 29th, 2020 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Wall surrendered to detectives at the ACSO Substation in Commerce City. The defendant also surrendered the firearm used in the crime. The defendant was arrested and the following charges have been submitted:

Jereme Lee Wall, 33, of Commerce City
Assault 1st degree

The defendant is held in the Adams County Detention Facility pending further court proceedings.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office or North Metro Drug Task Force has determined that there is probable cause to make an arrest. The defendant(s) are presumed innocent until convicted in court. The 17th Judicial District (District Attorney) may decline to prosecute or refuse to file charges in this proceeding. Consequently, charges are often reduced, dropped or dismissed.
