October is National Arts and Humanities Month, and bringing distinctive public art to the community is the mission of the Town’s Public Art Commission. To celebrate and stay in touch with the vision of Castle Rock residents, the commission is now asking for the public’s input on art in the community.
The Public Art Commission identifies priorities and goals related to acquiring art for public buildings and parks in Town. Thanks to the Public Art Commission, the Town currently has more than 30 pieces of public art, which include murals, sculptures, utility box wraps and more.
Help determine if public art in Castle Rock is headed in the right direction. A brief questionnaire is available online at CRgov.com/PublicArt through Friday, Nov. 20. Complete the survey, and help shape the vision and goals of the Town’s Public Art Commission. Your input is essential to ensure the community’s public art reflects the values and preferences of Castle Rock residents. The information will also be used as the Town continues to plan and implement future art initiatives.
